Max is 7 weeks old here...always the comic this little guy is totally non-threatening and absolutely lovable.

At 12 weeks of age he fractured the growth plate at the head of the femur, we have no idea how he did this but fortunately for us it healed quickly as an injury like this on a dog this size can be fatal...a Basset cannot survive on three legs and he would be too heavy in body to have it pinned...so we had a nervous 2 weeks while we waited for the results of the second x-ray...now he moves like a dream, fully recovered.

Still a comedian, he spends a lot of time sitting up begging....this is the only thing he has really perfected so far...standing in the ring is not high on his agenda...he would prefer to watch TV or go for walks.

Sometimes he's Max-a-million and other times Mad Max, but always sweet and lovable.

He has a beautiful temperament and is very loving...Max now lives in the lap of luxury with some wonderful people.
